What It's All About

Welcome to the AUDIENCE!

AUDIENCE is a community of passionate music fans and talented artists committed to changing the way that the music business works.

Part one of our mission is to help musicians get the funding that they need to create, record, and tour, while enabling them to retain ownership and revenue from the sale of their art. Part two is to enable fans to have closer relationships with the artists they care about – to support them as they build and sustain their careers. Artists need financial support to make great music. Fans have money, and love experiencing great music. It’s a simple concept, really. The AUDIENCE is you.

Share
Some of us are always in the know about cool up-and-coming bands, and some of us just like to discover new music now and then. Either way, we often find new stuff that we like through friends or through a band we already know. But chances are, if you are reading this you care about music. AUDIENCE will be a place where fans can go to discover new music, and a place where they can send their friends when they want to share a great new find. It will also be a place where artists can share what they’re up to, helping their fans to stay more closely connected.

Support
This is the core of AUDIENCE. Fans contribute funds for a particular artist in support of production and/or touring. AUDIENCE serves as a checkbook for that artist, providing funds directly to record studios and other sources that the band is using to record and tour. It all happens according to a pre-determined artist plan.

Benefit
Artists get the funds they need to get into the studio and record and to tour. When their music is sold, they get to keep a much larger portion of the revenue from those sales than they would with a traditional record deal. Essentially, they get a better chance at making a real living from their art.

Fans get a variety of benefits, depending on the level of funds that they commit. It can be anything from a free download of a track available only to band supporters to a private concert in your backyard. You choose how much to give, and you get benefits that matter to you in return.

AUDIENCE is starting with three artists: Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars, Reed Foehl (formerly of Acoustic Junction) and Leah Siegel . In time, we hope that our community will grow to include a whole lot more. Thanks for checking us out, and we hope that you’ll be a part of the AUDIENCE for years to come!
